What is Invisalign®?

The Invisalign® system utilizes a series of clear plastic aligners to move teeth into the desired positions, allowing patients to straighten their teeth without the discomfort or inconveniences associated with traditional metal braces.

How does Invisalign® work?

To begin the Invisalign® treatment, the dentist will take impressions of your teeth and will use computer imaging to plan your treatment. Then, your personal series of Invisalign® aligners will be crafted. Every few weeks, you will move to the next set of aligners to continue moving your teeth into place until the desired results are achieved.

How effective is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is known to be as effective as braces when worn as directed. Because the aligners can be removed, it is important for the wearer to keep them on at all times when not eating or brushing for them to work effectively. Removing the aligners too often will prevent the wearer from receiving the full benefit of treatment.

What are the advantage of Invisalign® over traditional braces?

The primary advantage of the Invisalign® system is the cosmetic benefit. Because the aligners are virtually invisible, no one will notice you are wearing the Invisalign® system. Invisalign® can also be taken off when you need to brush your teeth, floss, or eat – offering an extremely convenient treatment plan. Most patients also find that the Invisalign® system is more comfortable than traditional metal braces.
